There are loud speakers above the patients bed, makes it hard for my grandfather to sleep. They use this communicate even during the night. (you would think they could use walkies or carry around phones) When nurses came to my grandfathers room to put an IV in they laughed and playedamong them self.....not paying much attention the my grandfather who was already confused from his recent stroke. By the 4th attempt and 4th location of trying to insert IV I was ready to pull my hair out as well as theres. They are a few other issues Ihad with this place. I will not go into detail about anymore......over all I didn't feel that the staff had any understanding of how my grandfather or the family felt.(I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE)
The staff are not receptive to family input and are incapable of critical thinking. The licensed staff are rude and enjoy making family feel uncomfortable. Night charge nurse Marissa is a rude condescending person that was threatened by someone with more nursing experience and a far greater knowledge base and made it a point to make our family's experience miserable. The nursing staff and physicians do not know the first thing about end-of-life care and making a patient comfortable during the process. The nurses do not advocate for their patients because, in my opinion, they do not possess the critical thinking skills or intelligence to do so. It is unfortunate that this hospital has to rely on substandard nursing to provide care to patients with a such a high acuity. I recommend finding another facility for your loved one if long-term acute care is needed. And yes we did notify administration and the Board of Nursing regarding the sub-standard care and borderline negligent nursing care.
I was not happy with the care for my mother in law at this place at all. Found her in soiled clothes, soiled bedding more than once. Two times they let her blood sugar drop in the 20's as a result she had diabetic seizures. One of her stays there she contracted mersa and had to have her leg amputated to catch it before it killed her. Needless to say I am very disappointed with the standard of care at this facility. If you have another option please do not send your loved ones there!
I was a patient at Warm Springs Rehab. admitted on Aug 16, 2010, completely paralyzed after being struck with Guillain-Barre syndrome. I cannot express how grateful I will forever be to the whole staff there from the nurses who took care of me, my respiratory therapists, my physical therapists, occupational therapists, doctors, nurses aides, the front desk staff, administration staff, and the wonderful cooks in the kitchen. Everyone was friendly and expressed so much care and concern. The staff was very kind to my family and went out of their way to make me feel comfortable. I regained my mobility and beat that horrible illness thanks to all of them working together and was discharged on October 29th. It was an experience that I will never forget but more importantly I will never forget the staff at Warm Springs. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
